Ort der Stille

In Bschlabs ist es still geworden. Das auf 1314m Höhe im Tiroler Lechtal gelegene Dorf ist eine der österreichischen Regionen, die am stärksten von Abwanderung betroffen sind. 2021 hat Bschlabs noch 62 Einwohner*innen.
Inspiriert von dem „Ort der Stille“, welcher an einer in Bschlabs startenden Wanderroute liegt, haben wir Orte aufgesucht die mit Stille assoziiert werden, um die dort dennoch vorherrschenden Soundlandschaften, die kleinen wie auch großen Geräusche, aufzuzeichnen: die örtliche Kirche, ein Heupill am Berg, das Bschlabertal bei Nacht, unser Schlafzimmer im Haus Panorama und natürlich den „Ort der Stille“.

Bschlabs went silent. In a height of 1314 meters in Tyrol’s Lechtal, is one of the Austrian regions most affected by emigration. In 2021, Bschlabs has 62 residents.
Inspired by the “Place of Silence” situated on the hiking route, starting in Bschlabs, we visited places associated with silence in order to record the soundscapes that nevertheless prevail there, the small as well as the big sounds: the local church, a shelter hut on the mountain Brandkopf, the Bschlabertal valley at night, our bedroom at the Haus Panorama and of course the „Place of Silence“.

Die App ist im Rahmen der Medienfrische 2022 entstanden. Wir haben uns drei Tage Zeit genommen, um die Objekte für die 3D Modelle in ihrer Umgebung zu Scannen, die Tonaufnahmen zu machen und alles zusammen in eine App zu packen.

This app was built during the Medienfrische 2022. In a workshop, which lasted 3 days, we scanned all the objects used for the 3D models, made the sound recordings and put all of that together into the app.
